Bollywood trending news

Bollywood trending news: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Bhoot Bangla. After multiple delays, the Priyadarshan directorial is all set to arrive in cinema halls on April 10. For those unversed, it was postponed amid the massive success of Dhurandhar 2, officially titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Ahead of the big day, Akki visited the iconic Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The actor, who is an avid bhakt (devotee) of Lord Shiva, was spotted at the (Bollywood trending news)Jyotirlinga temple with his mother-in-law, veteran actress Dimple Kapadia. He sought blessings there and also prayed for the nation.

During his visit, Akki also spoke to the media. Talking about the spiritual visit, he said, “It was really good…I prayed for the entire country and my family. I prayed that may our country always excel and progress.”

About Bhoot Bangla

The film marks Akshay’s reunion with iconic filmmaker Priyadarshan after 14 years. The actor-director duo has previously collaborated on comedy classics like Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhag, De Dana Dan, and more.

Bhoot Bangla will see the superstar romance actress Wamiqa Gabbi. Backed by Ektaa Kapoor, the film also features Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Paresh Rawal, and others in supporting roles.

In the film, Akki plays a non-believer who gets caught up in the chaos of a haunted house. Director Priyadarshan exclusively spoke to Zoom about the upcoming movie and said, “This film is a fantasy. It’s a fantasy that this could happen. So we also try to put logic, saying that quantum physics and all these things can take the soul into another person’s body. We have folklore; the whole Indian culture has a lot of beliefs in (black) magic and ghosts and all those things. When there is a good spirit, there is also a bad spirit. In the bible, they say teleportation is one soul that gets into somebody that is our base of this film. I even tried to make a theological speech at the beginning of the film, just to give a backdrop and make it believable.”

Notably, Akshay’s last theatrical release was Jolly LLB 3. The film, also starring Arshad Warsi, hit screens last year. The upcoming horror-comedy marks his first release of 2026, and fans have high hopes. Also, the superstar needs a hit to regain his box office momentum.
