Bhajan Lal Sharma: Jaipur/Anupgarh. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has announced a major financial package for urban local bodies across Rajasthan to tackle repair and maintenance works during the monsoon season. During his visit to Anupgarh in Sri Ganganagar district, the(Bhajan Lal Sharma) Chief Minister announced that each municipality will receive ₹1 crore, each municipal council ₹3 crore and each municipal corporation ₹10 crore for essential repair works.
₹389 Crore Development Package for Sri Ganganagar
During the programme, CM Sharma inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 131 development projects worth ₹389 crore in Sri Ganganagar district. He said that the state government has allocated ₹1,567 crore for the district’s overall development during the last two-and-a-half years and assured that funds would not be a constraint for future projects.
The Chief Minister announced the establishment of an Additional Superintendent of Police office in Anupgarh and restoration of the historic Anupgarh Fort. He also said that the DPR for the Sri Ganganagar-Kotputli Greenfield Expressway is in its final stage.
Big Push for Irrigation and Roads
Several major irrigation projects are underway in the district. Reconstruction of pucca watercourses across 44,000 hectares of irrigated land is being carried out at a cost of ₹200 crore. Another ₹185 crore is being spent on restoring damaged watercourses in the Kanwarsen Canal area.
The government has also approved several road, ROB and RUB projects, along with canal relining works, including ₹225 crore for the Sardul Branch of the Bhakra Canal.
Focus on Farmers, Women and Youth
CM Sharma highlighted the government’s welfare initiatives, including ₹9,000 under Kisan Samman Nidhi, LPG cylinders at ₹450 for eligible families and social security pensions of ₹1,450 per month.
He said more than 1.78 lakh government appointments have already been made in the state, while recruitment for over 1.32 lakh posts is underway.
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and several public representatives were also present during the programme.
