Jaipur News: The investigation into a high-profile land scam in Rajasthan appears to be approaching a decisive stage, with enforcement agencies tightening the legal net around Pramod Sharma, alleged to be linked to the Chief Minister’s family. Officials indicate that a third and “final” notice is likely to be issued shortly, after which coercive measures—such as attachment of property and proclamation—may follow if the accused fails to appear.
According to police sources, Sharma’s continued absence and non-compliance with earlier notices are now being treated as grounds for escalated action. (Jaipur News)The delay in immediate enforcement, sources suggest, was partly due to administrative prioritisation during the visit of senior leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party.
The defence has contested the process, terming it procedurally unfair.
Counsel argue that a notice issued on the 16th, requiring appearance by 9 a.m. the following day, violates principles of natural justice by denying “reasonable time” for preparation. They are preparing to challenge the notice in court, citing judicial precedents that emphasise fairness over strict timelines.
Investigators, however, maintain that the accused’s alleged evasion weakens such claims. Meanwhile, unverified reports of Sharma seeking refuge in religious premises—including associations circulating online with Bageshwar Dham and Swami Ramabhadracharya—have added a new dimension to the probe.
With legal arguments and enforcement measures converging, the case now stands at a critical juncture. The coming days are expected to determine whether the investigation transitions into decisive punitive action.
