Nitish Kumar Gets Relief: Z+ Security Cover to Remain in Plac

Nitish Kumar security

Nitish Kumar security: Bihar politics is currently signaling significant change, and speculation about a change in power has raised the political temperature. Meanwhile, crucial information has emerged regarding the security arrangements for Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. According to sources, even if Nitish Kumar resigns as Chief Minister, his security coverage will remain unimpeded. He will continue to receive the same Z-plus security cover as before. After being elected to the Rajya Sabha, (Nitish Kumar security)speculation has intensified that he may resign as Chief Minister upon his swearing-in on April 10th. In view of this potential political change, his security was reviewed, after which, under the Bihar Special Security Act 2000, it was decided that he would continue to receive the highest level of security in the future. This means that no matter whether he changes his position or his responsibilities, Nitish Kumar’s security will remain unimpeded.

What is Z Plus security?

Z-Plus security is considered one of the most stringent and highest-level VVIP security categories in the country. This security is provided to individuals whose lives are considered to be at serious risk. A multi-layered security system is established around the protected individual to pre-empt any potential threat. This security ring is manned by approximately 55 trained security personnel, including NSG commandos, officers from special security units, and local police or paramilitary personnel. The security system is divided into multiple layers to ensure complete security of the individual’s movements, public events, and private residences.

How strong is the security cordon?

The commandos deployed under Z-plus security are equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and communications equipment. The first line of security typically consists of specially trained NSG commandos, who are always on alert. Escort vehicles, bulletproof vehicles, and, if necessary, jammer vehicles are also part of the security convoy. This security isn’t limited to the individual’s presence; rather, their travel routes, meeting venues, residences, and meetings are monitored at every level. This is why it is considered one of the most reliable security systems in the country.

Who gets Z Plus security?

Z-plus security is typically provided to individuals holding constitutional positions or very important individuals against whom the level of security threat is assessed as very high. The President, Prime Minister, Union Home Minister, some Chief Ministers, and other very important individuals are provided with this type of security cover. The decision to grant this security is generally based on reports from intelligence agencies and threat assessment. The Ministry of Home Affairs or the relevant competent authority, after reviewing these reports, decides what level of security a person should receive.

Why is this decision important in the case of Nitish Kumar?

Nitish Kumar has been a prominent figure in Bihar politics and has long been at the center of power. Even if he leaves the post of Chief Minister and moves to Delhi to serve in the Rajya Sabha, his political and public engagement will remain. Consequently, the administration is unwilling to take any risks regarding his security. This is why, despite the potential for a change of position, his security is not being reduced. This decision indicates that the state and security agencies continue to view him as a high-risk public figure.
