Jaipur News: A large number of young Ayurvedic doctors, led by Dr. Bhanwar Choudhary, submitted a memorandum to Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa, expressing strong opposition to the Ayurveda Department’s decision to reappoint retired medical officers against 926 vacant posts. The delegation urged the state government to withdraw the order and initiate regular recruitment,(Jaipur News) stating that the move would deprive thousands of qualified young professionals of employment opportunities.
10,000 Qualified Doctors Await Employment
Addressing the media, Dr. Bhanwar Choudhary said that nearly 10,000 qualified Ayurvedic graduates, MDs, and PhD holders across Rajasthan are waiting for government jobs. He argued that filling vacant posts through the reappointment of retired officers instead of conducting fresh recruitment is unjust to unemployed youth who have invested years in higher education and professional training.
He emphasized that the state should prioritize creating opportunities for qualified young doctors rather than extending the service of retired officials.
Four Major Demands Placed Before the Government
In the memorandum, the doctors demanded the immediate withdrawal of the order related to the reappointment of retired medical officers. They also called for the early commencement of a transparent and regular recruitment process for all sanctioned vacant posts, including the existing 926 vacancies.
The memorandum further demanded that appointments to the posts of Assistant Professor, Medical Officer, and other academic positions be made strictly in accordance with the standards prescribed by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM). The doctors also sought a clear separation between academic and clinical posts, pointing out that since 2021, Rajasthan’s eight Government Ayurvedic Colleges have been relying on deputed medical officers instead of making permanent academic appointments.
Warning of Statewide Democratic Protest
The delegation also urged the government to replace contractual, temporary, and reappointment-based arrangements with regular employment opportunities for qualified Ayurvedic professionals.
Dr. Choudhary said that the young doctors are seeking only fair opportunities and a transparent recruitment process. He warned that if the government fails to take a positive decision, unemployed Ayurvedic doctors across Rajasthan will be compelled to launch a statewide democratic and constitutional movement to safeguard their employment rights.
