Israel vs Iran Escalates: Amid the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Israel’s military has claimed that it carried out strikes on nuclear-related facilities in Iran. Iranian state media has also confirmed that the attacks targeted nuclear infrastructure, including a heavy-water plant and a yellowcake production facility.
According to reports, a heavy-water reactor located in central Iran was among the sites hit in strikes attributed to the United States and Israel. The attack comes as (Israel vs Iran Escalates: )Israel had recently threatened to intensify its campaign against Tehran. While Israel has taken responsibility for the strikes, Iran has warned of immediate retaliation.
Which sites were targeted?
Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported that the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran confirmed that the Shahid Khondab Heavy Water Complex and the Ardakan Yellowcake Production Plant were targeted. Officials stated that there were no casualties and no risk of radioactive contamination. It was also noted that the Arak plant had already been shut down following an earlier attack in June last year.
‘Not a tit-for-tat response’ — Iran’s strong warning
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a stern warning to Israel, stating that it would respond to the attacks. IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Seyed Majid Mousavi wrote on social media that employees of companies linked to the United States and Israel should leave their workplaces.
He said, “You have tested us before… this time it will not be a simple tit-for-tat equation—just wait.” Meanwhile, the United States continues to emphasize a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
